Instead of these rampant, ill-advised, cruel, child-abuse "ZERO" policies on school kids with finger and poptart "guns", plastic pistolas and speech crimes (the list is long and growing), how about a ZERO policy on perverts? Is it because "authorities" can bully kids and their parents? It is becoming impossible to fight the tyrants while the crazies run free, free to ACTUALLY hurt, rape, murder and destroy lives.

This latest horror from Jacksonville proves the point that grownups care more about grownups than they do about children. The suspensions of ELEMENTARY & JR HIGH students is NOT for the kids, it's for the adults and it's CYA.

Why was this child predator's previous conduct only a misdemeanor?

Smith has been a registered sex offender since a 1993 conviction in Duval County for attempted kidnapping and selling obscene materials. He has been arrested several times since then, most recently in 2009 on a charge of child abuse after making obscene phone calls to a 10-year-old girl, making verbal threats, and impersonating a social worker with the Florida Department of Children and Families who claimed to be investigating the girl’s family.

Smith pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges in that case and was released from jail May 31.

Williams said Smith had just met with police Friday morning to comply with a state law that requires sex offenders to verify their address once a year.

 And by ZERO policy for pervs, I mean zeroing them out.

Obama spewed the same old effluvia Monday when introducing Elena Kagan as his nominee for the Supreme Court. Let us count the inanities and dishonesties in his introductory remarks:

"Behind law there are stories -- stories of people's lives as shaped by the law, stories of people's lives as might be changed by the law…" Of course, here he is quoting Kagan herself, but it's still absurd. Of course the law affects people's lives: That's why we have elections to choose legislators to write the laws, and it's why we give trial judges at least a modicum of discretion in meting out sentences when laws are violated. But even that discretion is governed by the laws as laid out by the legislative process. The appeals courts exist to ensure that those laws are applied the same way to every litigant regardless of what their personal stories are, not because of their personal stories.

"During her time in this office, she's repeatedly defended the rights of shareholders and ordinary citizens against unscrupulous corporations." What nonsense. A corporation is a set of shareholders. When a corporation pays a judgment, its shareholders are the ones who pay. When the corporation loses money, it is the shareholders who lose the money. When a lawsuit supposedly on behalf of shareholders is successful, the "payout" gets taken from the corporate accounts, which devalues the stock of, yes, the shareholders themselves. Setting the shareholders against the corporation is asking Peter to fight not Paul, but Peter himself. It's like boxing one's own image in a mirror -- except that when you throw a punch, both the mirror and the puncher get hurt. So too in any match between a corporation and its shareholders: It's nothing more than self-mutilation.

Let's have a thought experiment

If this had been black kids not getting to participate, you would hear about this, right?

Remember a few years ago that the phrase "driving while black" was used often to excuse being pulled over for whatever traffic violation? Well, looks like now there is a more real racism - "learning while white." You don't get a ticket for being white. Instead, you lose your educational opportunity. White students not allowed! This isn't even separate but equal, it is rather separate and unequal by design! And the principle of the elementary school is defending this by pointing out the benefit to the black students that got to go:

“In hindsight, this field trip could have been approached and arranged in a better way," Madison wrote. "But as I reflect upon the look of excitement, enthusiasm and energy that I saw in these children’s eyes as they stood in the presence of a renowned African American rocket scientist in a very successful position, it gave the kids an opportunity to see this type of achievement is possible for even them.

“It was not a wasted venture for I know one day they might want to aspire to be the first astronaut or scientist standing on the Planet Mars.

Thus begs a question: would the white children have not gotten the same benefit from attending that event? Would Principal Madison not have seen "excitement, enthusiasm and energy" in the white students eyes as well?

Arizona's sweeping immigration bill allows police to arrest illegal immigrant day laborers seeking work on the street or anyone trying to hire them. It won't take effect until summer but it is already having an effect on the state's underground economy.

"Nobody wants to pick us up," Julio Loyola Diaz says in Spanish as he and dozens of other men wait under the shade of palo verde trees and lean against a low brick wall outside the east Phoenix home improvement store.

Many day laborers like Diaz say they will leave Arizona because of the law, which also makes it a crime to be in the U.S. illegally and directs police to question people about their immigration status if there is reason to suspect they are illegal immigrants.

Supporters of the law hope it creates jobs for thousands of Americans.

I find the bold item stunning in its idiocy.

If something is "illegal" isn't it already criminal? What is the definition of a crime or criminal? These reporters need to stop taking dictation and Press Releases from the activist groups & Dems and get some education.

During a recent visit to several university campuses in the U.S., I discovered that there is more sympathy for Hamas there than there is in Ramallah.

Listening to some students and professors on these campuses, for a moment I thought I was sitting opposite a Hamas spokesman or a would-be-suicide bomber.

I was told, for instance, that Israel has no right to exist, that Israel’s “apartheid system” is worse than the one that existed in South Africa and that Operation Cast Lead was launched only because Hamas was beginning to show signs that it was interested in making peace and not because of the rockets that the Islamic movement was launching at Israeli communities.

I was also told that top Fatah operative Marwan Barghouti, who is serving five life terms in prison for masterminding terror attacks against Israeli civilians, was thrown behind bars simply because he was trying to promote peace between Israelis and Palestinians.

FDR's policies prolonged Depression by 7 years, UCLA economists calculate

In an article in the August issue of the Journal of Political Economy, Ohanian and Cole blame specific anti-competition and pro-labor measures that Roosevelt promoted and signed into law June 16, 1933.

"President Roosevelt believed that excessive competition was responsible for the Depression by reducing prices and wages, and by extension reducing employment and demand for goods and services," said Cole, also a UCLA professor of economics. "So he came up with a recovery package that would be unimaginable today, allowing businesses in every industry to collude without the threat of antitrust prosecution and workers to demand salaries about 25 percent above where they ought to have been, given market forces. The economy was poised for a beautiful recovery, but that recovery was stalled by these misguided policies." [snip]

"The fact that the Depression dragged on for years convinced generations of economists and policy-makers that capitalism could not be trusted to recover from depressions and that significant government intervention was required to achieve good outcomes," Cole said. "Ironically, our work shows that the recovery would have been very rapid had the government not intervened."

Riddle Me This

Why is it that people seem to think it's o.k. to "tax the rich"? What is "rich"? And how did Mr O come to decided that families/people making $250k + are rich? What if you've worked years and years, struggling, scraping, bumping your hump (or in some folks case, humping your bump) to get to that "rich" point of $250k and now, guess what, your fellow Americans and Mr O want to take it away from you. Lesson 1: That 95% who WON'T be taxed and why this is a big fat lie:
Who Pays for the Cap and Trade? Hint: They were promised a tax cut during the Obama campaign.

Politicians love cap and trade because they can claim to be taxing "polluters," not workers. Hardly. Once the government creates a scarce new commodity -- in this case the right to emit carbon -- and then mandates that businesses buy it, the costs would inevitably be passed on to all consumers in the form of higher prices. Stating the obvious, Peter Orszag -- now Mr. Obama's budget director -- told Congress last year that "Those price increases are essential to the success of a cap-and-trade program."

Hit hardest would be the "95% of working families" Mr. Obama keeps mentioning, usually omitting that his no-new-taxes pledge comes with the caveat "unless you use energy." Putting a price on carbon is regressive by definition because poor and middle-income households spend more of their paychecks on things like gas to drive to work, groceries or home heating.

Lesson 2: For all non-economists: FDR did NOT bring us out of the depression. The NEW DEAL extended it. “Government intervention,” says Amity Shlaes , “helped make the Great Depression great.”

Speaking of greatness...Sayeth Mark Steyn:

National Greatness: FDR put the "Great" in the "Great Depression". Lots of other places - from Britain to Australia - took a hit in 1929 but, alas, they lacked an FDR to keep it going till the end of the Thirties. That's why in other countries they refer to it as "the Depression", but only in the US is it "Great".

Welcome, Prez Obama, to the world of actually managing things and having responsibility for the consequences. McCain would have the same problem, no doubt. They are both "gov't types". Never ran anything. Never really had true responsibility for others' lives. Born of a bureaucracy laden with do-nothings, know-it-alls and judge-alls:

Sources close to the White House say Mr Obama and his staff have been "overwhelmed" by the economic meltdown and have voiced concerns that the new president is not getting enough rest.

British officials, meanwhile, admit that the White House and US State Department staff were utterly bemused by complaints that the Prime Minister should have been granted full-blown press conference and a formal dinner, as has been customary. They concede that Obama aides seemed unfamiliar with the expectations that surround a major visit by a British prime minister.

But Washington figures with access to Mr Obama's inner circle explained the slight by saying that those high up in the administration have had little time to deal with international matters, let alone the diplomatic niceties of the special relationship.

Allies of Mr Obama say his weary appearance in the Oval Office with Mr Brown illustrates the strain he is now under, and the president's surprise at the sheer volume of business that crosses his desk.

A well-connected Washington figure, who is close to members of Mr Obama's inner circle, expressed concern that Mr Obama had failed so far to "even fake an interest in foreign policy".

A British official conceded that the furore surrounding the apparent snub to Mr Brown had come as a shock to the White House. "I think it's right to say that their focus is elsewhere, on domestic affairs. A number of our US interlocutors said they couldn't quite understand the British concerns and didn't get what that was all about."

The American source said: "Obama is overwhelmed. There is a zero sum tension between his ability to attend to the economic issues and his ability to be a proactive sculptor of the national security agenda.

"That was the gamble these guys made at the front end of this presidency and I think they're finding it a hard thing to do everything."

Ask Not What Your Education Can Do for You...

While researching this week's column, I was struck by this passage about education in President Obama's recent speech to Congress (emphasis added):

It is our responsibility as lawmakers and educators to make this system work. But it is the responsibility of every citizen to participate in it. And so tonight, I ask every American to commit to at least one year or more of higher education or career training. This can be community college or a four-year school; vocational training or an apprenticeship. But whatever the training may be, every American will need to get more than a high school diploma. And dropping out of high school is no longer an option. It's not just quitting on yourself, it's quitting on your country—and this country needs and values the talents of every American.

The collectivism implicit in this rhetoric is pretty creepy. Evidently all of us have a duty to optimize our educations so we can maximize our earnings and give our country the full benefit of our talents. "Every American will need to get more than a high school diploma," Obama decrees. But why stop there? If someone with strong mathematical and spatial reasoning abilities majors in sociology instead of engineering, it's plain that he will not be giving his country as much value (and tax revenue) as he could. What about the potential doctor who decides to play the violin or the writer who could have been a software developer? Given Obama's premise, it's hard to see why such choices should be permitted, especially when the country is so generously subsidizing higher education.

I can't help but compare this mindset to communist Russia.

If it's torture, why are so many people "demonstrating" it and living to tell and talk about it with no physical or emotional harm? You don't see so-called torture demonstrations for cutting off fingers and limbs, burning skin, slapping, punching or hitting, etc.

This is a big joke. It's NOT torture and saying it is does a disservice to actual torture.

The notion too that if we torture our own may be tortured is total B.S. The other "side" doesn't wear uniforms, bombs women and children, cuts off heads and burns bodies. Torture is the least of our worries. What a joke our so-called "leaders" have become.

It's also a complete lie that torture doesn't work. It does, which is why it's been around for thousands of years. Ask the Chinese.

Pulling the Veil Back and Putting it On

The 60s and 70s were a time of great change. Sure enough. Civil rights were a big deal. Feminism meant standing up for women's rights (both human and state) while others sat down or remained silent.

But, the threats were never really real, were they? Women standing up to a patriarchal society with protests and op-eds and books with the consequences of these bold actions ranging from strange looks to maybe NOT getting what you want. But, if you complain and whine loud enough, well The Man will give in.

And so, here we are 30-40 years later and the veil has been pulled back to reveal: not so tough or committed after all. The years of privilege have made so-called feminist weak. But I suspect they were probably weak to begin with. It is much easier and safer to rail against a system in which you know you are protected-- that you can say or do anything and the greatest harm that will likely befall you is a short jail stint in a Western prison.

Now, in the world of hajibs and Mohammad teddy bears and women rape and then being punished for it by stoning/lashing/death in Middle Eastern countries, the "feminists" are silent. "We have no comment" says NOW after the Mohammad incident in Sudan.

The consequences of standing up to the patriarchal societies of the Middle East are extremely dire and the penalty severe. Any woman who would stand up to these "morality" thugs would surely be needing the support and courage from Western women who, in the safe confines of a liberal society, fear nothing, sacrifice nothing and offer nothing to help their sisters suffering across the pond.

Rather, the feminist "movements" of today are more concerned with filling their coffers and beating the same old "Man" and living in the past of 30 years ago -- singing their own praises, complaining about the same 'ol so-called inequalities and patting themselves on the back for a job well done.

I guess I shouldn't be too hard on them. Even though the risks taken weren't so risky, they still believed they were. That's what Dorothy thought too. That her big journey was risky and the wizard was greater and more powerful than he was. But when she pulled back the curtain, she saw a wrinkly little old man. When we pull back the veil on the feminist, we see nearly the same thing -- a wrinkly little old woman who would rather have women leave the veil on, sit down and shut up.

For Dorothy, it was all a dream. For the women living in oppressive Islamist-fascism, it's a nightmare in which they never escape.

RIP little one. Will feminists denounce her murder?

911 Conspiracy: a Super Duper Plot to De-Fang IslamoFascism?

It may be so Machiavellian, so amazingly simple...the newest grassy knoll conspiracy theory about 911 being an inside job may just save the day.

Wow. What a truly ingenious way to pull the prayer rug right out from under the IslamoFascist feet. All this chatter about BushCo knowing, bombs detonating the Twin Towers and Building 7 to "melt steel" and that's what really brought them down and Osama working for the CIA and the 19 so-called "hijackers" are really alive and well and living in Australia, Saudi Arabia and all countries in-between-- it could all be a big patriotic push to suck the wind out of the Islamos' sails who claim victory for, and are emboldened by, the 911 murders in NYC, DC and PA. Think about it.

If the Truthers can inform the world that the US is TRULY powerful in all ways and ALL things by educating them that 911 was an inside job perpetrated by the imperialist Americans, perhaps it will demoralize and deflate the ethos and egos of those strapping suicide bombs to their chests, beheading journos and innocents, bombing shops and cafes, assassinating elected officials and Coalition soldiers, taking over schools and rigging them with bombs, stoning women and mutilating and silencing them.

Besides, none of these things were happening BEFORE the "blood for oil" campaigns in Afghanistan and Iraq, right? Because after all, America is responsible for everything-- even the twisted, septic tank that is the Middle East.

911 Truthers: Keep it up. Spread the word. Deflate the bravado of the IslamoFascists and maybe we can all get back to holding hands and singing kumbaya like we were pre-911 when only people in other countries were being slaughtered.
